Recently, on March 13, a handicapped child was injured by another student during the school day at Western Greenbrier Middle School in Crawley, WV. A public social media post by Lindsey Nicole Eary describing his injuries along with photographs went viral in the following days, with over 1,000 shares. She says this isn't the first time he has been injured at school and expressed frustration that school personnel failed to contact her. She didn't learn of his injuries until Aiden arrived home later that day.
Beacon News West Virginia reached out to Lindsey Nicole Eary as well as Greenbrier County School Superintendent, Jeff Bryant, for comment.
"Greenbrier County Schools regards all matter relative to student safety as priority number one. When this specific student matter came to my attention, I placed an immediate investigation into action, which included statements from students, staff, and administration who witnessed the matter. Additionally, a thorough analysis of the video footage was included in this comprehensive investigation.
Ms. Eary has not responded to our messages for further comment.

Jaiden Walton - Previous student from West who was also attacked speaking!! 🙋🏽♀️! The BOE is all to blame, the teachers who watched this happen are ALSO to blame, anyone who didn’t report it and protect this child from harm is to blame and is at fault. You guys failed him, you continue failing the children who get bullied and it’s ridiculous. DO BETTER.

kenna sheppard - this isn’t the only student who has been attacked, wgms or board of education needs to get the kids causing so much trouble expelled especially considering it’s the same kids who have caused trouble time and time again with no discipline.

Stacy Spade - This should concider this a hate crime against a handicapped child, And not only punish the child that done this but go after the parents for not teaching there child not to be a bully

You're all to blame - Are you kidding me? I would first suggest that you teach your children not to be provoked considering that the world doesn't have any safe spaces outside of Greenbrier county schools. A bully is a bully and should be dealt with in whatever language the idiot understands. Being provoked by an individual with a handicapper's disability of any type and causing physical harm to that person is a shameful and weak reaction to your all's failure and teaching your children how to regulate their emotions. Parents are just as much to blame as the punk that assaulted this child. For the love of God do better.

n/a - Although he has a mental disadvantage, Aiden has notoriously provoked other students relentlessly. While no student deserves any type of education physical retaliation against them, we were all children once who gave reaction based on emotions. Right, wrong, or indifferent, this matter was allowed to fester into an emotionally driven state of “fed up,” unfortunately resulting in physical injury. Greenbrier County Board office can not be considered a credible source regarding any matter involving the wellbeing of their students, staff, or faculty, however. Due to their infamous ability to cover-up any scandal, wrongful death, or mismanagement of funds. The Board Office will never accept any responsibility for negative outcomes our kids deal with.

N/a - The child’s grandparents need held accountable they have a history of sexual abuse within the family it doesn’t surprise me that the violence comes from that home

Lindsey hanna - It is pure bull crap he is such a sweet kid and doesn’t deserve this the school as well as the student should be held accountable. I pulled my middle schoolers out due to bullying and they couldn’t be happier and once my elementary school children reach middle school they also will NOT attend.

N/a - I have a child that goes to the same school. Aiden started it. He shouldn't be going around hitting other children and thinking it's ok or that he won't get hit back. My child will definitely themselves against any unwanted touching from another student.
