As disheartening as it has been to witness politicians and pundits voice their disdain regarding prayers for the families harmed by the tragedy in Minneapolis at Annunciation Catholic School on August 27, it shouldn’t be surprising and, it may possibly reveal a silver lining.
American Democrats, those progressive stalwarts of leftist ideology, have a long history of contempt towards God and His statutes. They were the champions of slavery during the American Civil War and the founders and adherents of the KKK, glorifying discrimination since 1865.
They are the torchbearers for murdering the innocent in the womb, promoting the belief that children are born in the wrong body and proud defenders of mutilating and sterilizing children while labeling it all ‘healthcare’. And let’s not forget the controversy at the 2012 DNC over the use of the word “God” on their platform. The doublespeak and vision of some in their camp is truly demonic.
Former Biden Press Secretary, Jen Psaki, California Governor Newsom and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey were just a few radical Democrats who verbalized their animosity towards Christians engaged in the grace filled action of offering “thoughts and prayers” for the families of the victims in the shooting.
Gov. Newsom, in this post from Aug. 28, 2025 seems to think prayer is ineffectual. Perhaps he doesn't know mankind has a soul that is eternal...perhaps he is unacquainted with Jesus Christ and how He prayed while on the cross and forgave those who crucified Him. 
Andy Ngo, independent journalist and author of Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy, has been reporting on the radicalization of trans-activists for a long time. He reported on the heinous murders by such groups across the country including the murder of Border Patrol Agent, David Maland. If the mainstream media reverted back to integrity in journalism, more of the country would know where threats to our citizens originate. 
But instead, we get the hypocrisy of progressives like Jen Psaki who will use “thoughts & prayers” when it places her in good stead with fellow progressives and attack the gesture when it suits the need of advancing gun control in the United States: 
To the belief that prayer alone is not enough to tackle the problem of violence in America, Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians and Constitutionalists can agree. The difference is in identifying the origins of violence and the methods suggested to discourage and prevent it.
The Left will always, uniformly, point to an inanimate object as the chief purveyor of violence against human life. Guns, and their want to control them, has been in their crosshairs for decades. Interestingly, the inanimate objects of mass destruction, used in the butchery and killing of over 63 million children since 1973, are completely ignored. So, too, the knives, cars and bombs used to destroy human life. 
Why the inconsistency? Because it’s inconvenient to ask "Why?", that’s why. If the motive doesn’t fit the racial divide/class oppressor narrative, smoke and mirrors must be employed at the behest of the national media.
For example, if you ask adherents to the Left why George Floyd died, they’ll tell you it was an act of racism, because that line must be regurgitated whenever possible at the expense of facts. If you ask why a young person who identified as trans and left a manifesto of hatred toward God and Christians, they’ll tell you, "the motive is unclear at this time" while defending the ‘trans community' from the other side of their mouth.
It’s incongruent for atheists to ask about the motivations of the human heart because in their philosophy, human beings are gods and morality is subjective. Many embrace nihilism and rebuke any notion of mankind being endowed with a spirit that was created for communing with Almighty God, Creator of the Universe.
Narcissism is at the root of their justification for working to remove guns from society while avoiding a search of the human heart that desires to take life. By the same turn, also allowing speculums, curettes and aspirators to kill human life while calling it "good" because they wish it to be so.
They are their own tyrannical gods, seeking to impose their version of morality on citizens of the United States of America under meaningless words and phrases such as "gun free zones" and "reproductive rights".
Meanwhile, at the time of writing, there have been hundreds of thousands of posts, articles and shares from those defending the value of prayer in America. Among the most visible are Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Vice President J.D. Vance: 
Karoline Leavitt, the tenacious White House Press Secretary, also came out immediately saying, “I saw the comments of my predecessor, Jen Psaki, I think they're incredibly insensitive and disrespectful to the tens of millions of Americans of faith across this country who believe in the power of prayer."
Our current administration and indeed, millions of Christians in America understand the violence that may be born of nihilistic self aggrandizement. This is why gender ideology is being removed from schools, it’s why communities are fighting back against the sexualization of children, it’s why state legislatures are working to put the Bible back in the classroom.
Love of God and concern for our most vulnerable citizens is why community prayer happens and churches preaching the Truth about God are growing. It’s the same reason millions of families are homeschooling their children, to ensure their education is in agreement with God-fearing values including love, liberty, and justice. It’s why thousands are being baptized across the country— Americans are waking up to see that apart from Christ there is emptiness. They are recognizing a shifting ‘morality’ imposed by the state fills the void when God is removed.
God-fearing citizens understand that America’s flirtation with socialism coupled with the promotion of the 2SLGBTQIA+ agenda generates chaos and particularly with children, confusion and hopelessness. Listen to only one story of a detransitioner (those children who have been devoured by a corrupt medical industry believing they needed life-altering surgery and then changed their minds) and you’ll see this. Listen to multiple accounts and you’ll witness the same themes running throughout their stories.
Christians know that a nation uprooted from the One True God and His commandments will fall. In the backlash and horror of the tragedy in Minneapolis, more people are seeing this thanks to the outspoken conservatives in our government and elsewhere. As the wisdom of God and the power of prayer to heal and transform people takes root in the hearts of Americans, we can thank, in part, the cynicism of cruel hearts for opening the floodgates for a national dialogue on prayer.
